Festive Holiday Activities to Do With Your Family in Colorado Springs This Year

The holidays are a magical time for creating memories with your loved ones! That's why I compiled a list of some of Colorado Springs' most wonderful winter activities to do with your family this holiday season. (Hint: There's one on this list you DEFINITELY won't want to miss!) I wish you and your family the most magical holiday season and can't thank you enough for the support you've shown Life Photography by Melissa this year. 2022 was another amazing year for the books! Happy Holidays!

Take a Ride on the Santa Express Train

This is the perfect holiday event for kids of all ages! Take a ride on the Santa Express Train to the North Pole in Colorado's Royal Gorge. Meet Santa and make memories your children will treasure for years to come!

Each ticket includes a Santa Express ride, meeting Santa Claus on the train, cocoa and cookies, and a special gift from Santa.

Drive Across the Bridge of Lights

The inaugural Bridge of Lights event is one you won't want to miss! This drive-thru light display is like none you've ever seen before.

The suspension bridge will be decked out with thousands of lights and visitors will have the rare opportunity to drive across the bridge, enjoy spectacular views of the Royal Gorge at night, see the lights throughout the park, and even enjoy holiday music and hot cocoa and cookies from the comfort of your own car as you cross the bridge. This is one you'll want to add to your activity list for many years to come!

Go Wild at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Electric Safari

The Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers a unique mix of holiday spirit and all of your regular zoo favorites!

Enjoy 85 light sculptures, large, illuminated inflatable animals you can pose with, photos with Santa on select dates, Sky Ride, hot cocoa, select zoo exhibits, and interactive events with some zoo animals. If you're looking for a way to give back this holiday season, you can even be a Secret Santa to the zoo animals by purchasing and bringing with you items from the animals' wish list and dropping it off for them when you show up for your Electric Safari reservation!

Enjoy Cookies & Photos with Santa - and Life Photography by Melissa!

Photo credit: CO Springs Mom Collective

I will be joining the CO Springs Mom Collective for their annual Santa at the Market event on December 4th and 11th! Enjoy cookies, cocoa, games, a Santa Scavenger Hunt, and shopping, PLUS get your photo with Santa -- I'll be there photographing!

This event will even feature a Sensory Santa experience for those children who would benefit from a calmer encounter with Santa, which is free from the sights and sounds of the standard event. Children who attend this part of the event will get a photo with Santa and a goodie bag with sponsor gifts, a hot cocoa packet, and a cookie decorating kit to enjoy at home.

Tickets for this amazing event sell out fast, so be sure to visit this link to get your ticket!

Visit the North Pole

The North Pole is Colorado Springs' own vintage amusement park and it is the fun family experience you've been looking for!

The holiday spirit lives on all year long at the North Pole and Santa's Workshop, but during the holidays, the holiday magic is even stronger. Enjoy sweet treats, visit with Santa, and have the time of your life on their two-dozen vintage rides. They have infant-friendly rides, child-only rides, and rides for the whole family, and you can also grab lunch or a quick snack at their Carousel Cafe. And don't forget to get your picture taken with Santa--they have picture packages you can cherish for years to come!
